This restaurant is a joke. Over priced and the food was bland. Salt and pepper anyone? Don't waste your time and money. Go somewhere else. Food was cold. We had 7 in our party. They sat us by the front door. Which was is obviously a heavy traffic spot. We we're being bumped into left and right. It took the girl for ever to take our food order. Then she never came back for refills. Then if you asked for something, it was the end of the world.

Breakfast was pretty good! We had the 6.99 breakfast special, which was filling. Prices were not bad. Very friendly staff

Good basic American food. The decor is very 1950's. The food is the same. Don't expect fancy modern food. My Pastie was good, and the gravy side was really good gravy. My wife had the fish basket. There was plenty of fish and lots of fries. The waitress was friendly and attentive. The staff is definitely Northern Michigan home town friendly. One review said friendly in a creepy way. I would disagree. Just reminded me of my country family. Definitely one of the better places to go in the city to eat.

Very good chicken pasty, good amount of food. Service was good, staff friendly. My husband had the shrimp basket, and was impressed also. Would go again and again.

Ok food. Large portions. Staff is friendly but in a creepy way. Atmosphere is ok. Good prices.

Great food and service. Pumpkin and Cherry pies highly recommendable. If you plan to split the bill, bring cash, they do not accept multiple cc to pay.

Have eaten here many years and it's quality is slipping...the large plates are filled with fries but small entree portion. Prices are also getting steep for what you get. For a dinner not to come with a soup or a salad or even a bread basket is getting cheap. All of those items are ala carte on the menu. On top of higher prices and less food, they charge a service charge when using your credit card. In a tourist town with everyone using credit cards that just a tax on the out of towners. News to the owners..the fee charged by the credit card processing company is called a cost of doing business and is a deductible line item at the end of the year on your taxes. Cunningham's will nickel and dime you on the bill.....(some of you will get the old reference in that statement)

Rip off......they charge an extra fee for credit card use.... Food was ok.... Seating was cramped and the waitress bumped into me twice. I would not eat again.

Breakfast here was very good. Service was fast and polite. I had bacon, potatoes, eggs, and toast. Coffee was also very good. If you are in Mackinac City and need a family style diner, then this is the place. The prices were also very reasonable, especially for a tourist area.

This is a small restaurant but they have the best breakfast in town! The waitstaff is really nice. They also have homemade pie and I was told the crust recipe has been handed down for generations!

Paid $10.99 for 2 eggs, hash browns, toast and corned beef hash. We went there after our bridge walk and were seated fairly quickly @ 9:30 AM, much busier as we left. Quick, friendly service, but food quality was just ok. Surprisingly the eggs appeared smaller that normal size. Decent but not large portion of hash browns that weren't overly delicious, seemed like they weren't freshly made. The corned beef hash (that I normally like crispy at home) was extra crispy and had a odd taste, not bad, but maybe not the brand I'm used too? For what looked like the go to breakfast place in downtown Mackinaw city, it was a little disappointing.

Jim K. Had a a party of 6. Prompt service and seating. Whitefish special good size tasted great. Tuna sandwich was asked to be roasted and was not, had lots of tuna was great. Perch sandwich had only 2 perch, kind of skimpy. White fish sandwich was good value.

Very quaint breakfast place with this Awesome breakfast pastie. We ordered it with two eggs over easy, this is a must do. My husband got the gravy, I didn't and it didn't seem to need it. Great staff, super friendly! Will definitely come again!

Good food, Friendly service. Typical family style restaurant. Kids had lots of options. Everyone was pleased with their dinner. Pasties were so good I went back for lunch the next day for another round.

Service time was fast! We really liked that given we we were enroute to the northern part of the UP. I had the pollocl sandwich and outside of the 'extra' batter on my fish, it was splendid. Not much one can do with a white fish. My wife had a pasty (first time) and was impressed neither with the crust (doughy) nor the filling (dry). We also had the coconut cream pie which was OK given we enjoy our chicago pies (such as those at bang bang pie shop :)).

Subpar food. Even The grilled cheese sandwich was awful. Bread was dry yet greasy. Women's bathroom was dirty. Buyer beware. Over priced.

Chef salad was enormous. Pasties were great. We had the roast beef. Opt for the gravy over it. Turkey Reuben was a hit too. Mashed potatoes... yum. Comfort food here. Staff was great, this place has been here for a while. There is a reason...

The pasties were great comfort food. Very good crust and gravy. Could have used a little more chicken

Good friendly service doesn't taste quite as good as fish...so 2 stars it is. Very friendly service, food arrived fast, great atmosphere with window seating facing downtown Mackinaw City. That just can't make up for the sub-par food. I'm talking even for a quick diner, both plates we got were terrible. Fish and chips (fresh fish, ha - definitely not fresh caught in the least) tasted like it was out of a bag. The pasty was made hours ago and tasted microwaved. It's a bonus this place is a family run business and has been around for a while, otherwise it would probably close. Go to any other restaurant in downtown Mackinaw.

Average in comparison to any other diner. BUT, I had the chicken pastie with chicken gravy on the side. That dish is worth a 4*. Waitress was cheerful and attentive. For a quick basic meal while walking Mackinaw City, worth a stop. If you are a fan of pasties, for sure stop in.

The food left a little to be desired. We ate there last night and it was a bad experience from beginning to end. The potato soup tasted Spoiled. The deep fried chicken was raw. The fish and chips were soggy. This place is to be avoided. On the positive side they at least comped us for the raw chicken.

If you don't like the pasties here, you aren't going to like the pasties anywhere because they are AWESOME here. Reasonably priced, especially for a touristy area. The waitress was very nice and friendly. The service was quick and the food was tasty. Kids chicken fingers and mashed potatoes were delicious. They have red French dressing!!

Yeah, there may be better food somewhere else but this place is a part of Mackinaw City's history. And if you go, order the Chicken or Beef Pasty, get some homemade soup, and polish it off with a piece of their homemade pie!!

Love the Pasties and Pies! This a stop we make every time we are in the area! Price is a bit high, but it reflects the norm in the area.

Great restaurant for breakfast and lunch! Best omelets! The place is very clean and the entire staff is very attentive and quick. Great prices as well, about $10 per person.

Not as tasty & friendly as Pancake Chef. Overall it was a decent experience for breakfast. Food: Pancakes were plenty, but the hash browns were so so & cold. Tasted like they were freezer burned. Cinnamon roll looked homemade, was too sweet for me though. If you have a sweet tooth you just might enjoy it. Breakfast pasty was tasty with country gravy. Not as big of a portion as Pancake Chef though, but still pretty good for your palate. It was a nice touch to add an orange peel to each dish. Hot cocoa tasted like any other packaged hot cocoa. If you only like whip cream keep in mind they use cool whip instead. Service: Could have been more enjoyable if the two guys sitting down would have helped our waitress, Katie, instead of waiting for tables to be bussed & people to be seated. Because of that we had to wait for a bit for a refill on our beverages. It's a small place, but Katie & Sandy could have used some help from the guys.

Best pastie's in the area! We always stop here when we're in town. We've never had any problems with service or the food.

Food: Ordered a farmer's omlette. Nothing special, but nothing bad either...it got the job done. The raisin bread was good with the jams they had there. Hash browns were decent. Service: Received a friendly greeting upon arriving and we were seated promptly. Waitress didn't look to happy to be there, but she did a nice job and there are no complaints. They were prompt with refilling the coffee. I think we got out of there paying about $25 for breakfast. Not the cheapest place, but we didn't have any breakfast items back at the cottage we were renting. I would recommend this place if you need a decent breakfast and there aren't any other good alternatives.

We went to Cunningham's for dinner. It's a tiny little place with "fishy" decor. The wait staff was friendly enough. I got the fried perch sandwich with cole slaw. Meh. The slaw was just okay, and the sandwich was tiny - just two tiny pieces of fried fish on a a little bun. Disappointing for the price. My husband got a beef pasty and some onion rings. Again, okay. Nothing to write home about. My son got chicken fingers and fries. Couldn't mess that up. The meals were just so-so. We all decided to have pie - good choice. Chocolate, Banana Creme and Blueberry. All were very good and all were huge slices. You'd pay about $6 a piece in a regular chain restaurant for this sized slice of pie. I think it was $3.69 or $3.50 each - can't remember. So, I'd skip the dinner but definitely come for the pie!

The food here was not so good and the service was poor as well. Everyone looks angry in here. The fish didn't taste so fresh. The kids hot dogs are terrible (how do you screw that up?). Plus you only get one free re-fill of soda. Stingy. This place pushed itself as a breakfast place though. Maybe it was good for that.
